Takaoka kojo(Old castle) Park Zoo

Today, I want to talk about "Takaoka kojo(Old castle) Park Zoo". The zoo is in Takaoka city, Toyama. Takaoka city is my hometown. The zoo is a 10-minute walk to my high school. I have visited there countless time since my childhood.
The zoo is very small and charge-free. There are 50 kinds of animals in the zoo.
Popular animals in the zoo is "Humboldt Penguin" and "Flamingo". When I was a kindergarten child, I sketched "Humboldt Penguin" and "Flamingo".
In 2002, 2 American Miniature Horse got into the zoo. They enjoy high popularity today.
I love this small zoo very much.

Asahiyama Zoo

Today, I want to talk about "Asahiyama Zoo".
I think that you may know about the zoo. The zoo is in Asahikawa city, Hokkaido.
I have visited there in the second year of the high school, but I stayed there only 1hour. So, I couldn't watch all animals in Asahiyama Zoo. In this blog, I write about animals I want to watch someday.
I want to watch "Penguin walk". In this zoo, penguins walk on the snowy street in front of the audience at about the same time each day. This year, penguin walk began on 18th of December. I will be there and watch penguin walk by my graduation.

Toba Aquarium

Today, I want to talk about "Toba Aquarium".
The aquarium is in Toba city, Mie.
I have visited there in second year of high school, so the next day I have visited "Shima Marine Land".
In Toba Aquarium, there are "Dugong dugon" and "Trichechus manatus". They are sirenian and model mermaid. In Japan, the aquarium only breeds couple of Dugong dugon.
There are "Finless porpoise" too. "Finless porpoise" is small whale and they live in Seto Inland Sea and Ise Bey.
They are very cute, so I couldn't help buying their soft toy. I want to go there again.

Shima Marine Land

Today, I want to talk about "Shima Marine Land". The aquarium is in Shima city, Mie.
I have visited there in the second year of high school. I visited there because we can watch "ocean sunfish" in Shima Mrine Land.
I had never watch ocean sunfish with my own eyes. In Japan, we can watch ocean sunfish at only ten aquariums. Breeding of ocean sunfish is difficult because ocean sunfish is not good at eating and swimming.
I felt at ease watching ocean sunfish.
This aquarium is small but you may enjoy there.

Uozu Aquarium

Today, I want to talk about "Uozu Aquarium".
The aquarium is in Uozu city, Toyama which is my home prefecture. So, aquarium that I first visited is "Uozu Aquarium".
The aquarium only permanent exhibit water creatures in Toyama. We can watch fresh water fishes which live in wildwater in Toyama and water creature which live in the coast and the depths of the Japan Sea. We can wacth " Firefly squid(Hotaru Ika). "Firefly squid" represent Toyama Bay. That glow palely and is shadowy and mysterious creature. In Toyama, there is "Hotaru Ika Museum". Please, look at that's Web site.

Nagoya Port Aquarium

Today, I want to talk about "Nagoya Port Aquarium".
The aquarium is in Minato Word, Nagoya.
I have visited there in the first year of high school.
This year, the 2005 World Exposition, Aichi, Japan opened.
I visited "Nagoya Port Aquarium" on the next day when I have visited the Expo.
There are many kind of penguins, Emperor Penguin, Gentoo Penguin, Adelie Penguin, Chinstrap Penguin.
In Japan, we can watch an Emperor Penguin in only two aquariums, Nankishirahama Adventure World and Nagoya Port Aquarium.
The Emperor Penguin is the largest penguin all over the world.
They live in the South Pole.
I like animals who live in the South Pole, for example,Penguin and Earless seal.
I want to go to the South Pole someday.

Ishikawa Zoo

Today, I want to talk about "Ishikawa Zoo".
The zoo is in Ishikawa where is next to my home prefecture.
I have visited there two times.
The zoo opened in 1999 and it was tne next year that I first went there with my family and my friend's family.
The zoo was filled with people.
The animal attracted a large audience was an elephant.
For the first time, I wathced an elephant.
Then, he showered me with water from his nose!
I was very surprised but I was happy because it was rare experience.
It is the one of my best memory.

Toyama Municipal Family Park Zoo

Today, I want to talk about "Toyama Municipal Family Park Zoo".
It is in Toyama where is my hometown. So, I went there many times since childhood.
Probably, it is "Family Park Zoo" that I first visited zoo.
"Family Park Zoo" is surrounded by greenery. It is recreation area for city residents.

My favorite animal there is "Capybara". That picture is "Capybara" but he don't belong to "Family Park Zoo"."Capybara" is a rat that is the largest in the warld. It's a comfort to watch "Capybara". His cartoon character merchandise sells in any places.
I want to go there again in order to meet "Capybara".

Osaka Aquarium Kaiyukan

Today, I want to talk about "Osaka Aquarium Kaiyukan".
I went there on September 1st. I had always wanted to go there because I wanted to watch "whale shark".
"Whale shark" that called "Jinbezame" in Japanese is the largest fin in the world.
There are two whale shark "Kai" and "Dai" in Kaiyukan. They were very quiet and swam sedately.
"Kaiyukan" is one of world's largest aquariums. It is the eight story building and there is the large water tank.
We can watch sea animals not only on water but also in water.
Also, we are able to enter at evening and watch sea animals at night.
I want to go there once again!

OtaruAquarium

Today, I want to talk about "OtaruAquarium".
Have you gone to OtaruAquarium? I went there on October 4, 2009.
There are many fishes and sea animals.

Top the list of this aquarium is show of sea animals. There are typical show of seals, sea lions and dolphins. In addition, there are powerful show of a Steller's sea lion and rare show of penguins.
This picture is show of penguins. Penguins didn't follow a trainer and they were free to wander. Their funny actions were very cute and made the audience laugh.

This year, OtaruAquarium have opened until November 23.

Maruyama Zoo

First, I'm going to write about Maruyama Zoo in Sapporo.
Have you gone to Maruyama Zoo? I have visited there three times.
There are all kinds of animal, for example, lions, giraffes, kangaroos, monkeys etc.

My favotite aria is "World bear house". There are Hokkaido Brown Bear, Malayan Sun Bear, Asian Black Bear, American Black Bear, Sloth Bear and Polar Bear.
Polar Bear twins were born in Maruyama Zoo on December 9, 2008. They were named "IKOR" and "KIRORU" on September 6, 2009. Twins are tremendously popular now.

Also, We can touch animals in ivent. I want to participate in "free flight of Raptores". I want to go to Maruyama Zoo in the near future. Won't you come with me?
